Please do help us help the churches of Berkshire by publicising the date of Ride+Stride on your church website and noticeboard and in your parish magazines, newsletters and bulletins. The date for 2024 is Saturday 14th September.

The posters and flyers shown here are for 2023 – we have left them up so that you can see what to expect. Updated versions for 2024 will be uploaded here nearer the time. Please get in touch if there are any problems/queries – the PRINT versions are higher spec so will print out in better quality than the WEB ones which are designed to be uploaded to your church website.

This one is for churches open on the day to print out and display in the porch or lychgate:

These two are flyers which can be used in newsletters, bulletins and on noticeboards in the church and around your community:

The remaining four are larger posters to be printed out for noticeboards or uploaded to websites:

Finally, here is the text of an article which can be used in church magazines or bulletins:

SAVE THE DATE: Saturday 14th September
WHY? It’s the annual Ride & Stride event!
This national event happens every year across the country. Any mode of transport is fine – you could walk, cycle, ride – simply choose a route and find lots of sponsorship from all your friends and family, perhaps every person in your congregation could sponsor you?
You can go by yourself or in a group, any time between 10am and 6pm and many people make a day of it. There are so many wonderful and interesting churches to visit, many will be open and offering refreshments too.
There is also the Daphne Barnes-Phillips trophy which is awarded to the most successful church each year – this is a splendid silver cup which is on its way to St Matthew’s Midgham which raised the most sponsorship in 2023.
Your nominated church will benefit hugely as they will receive half of your sponsorship. The remaining 50% goes to Berkshire Historic Churches Trust which in turn makes generous grants to churches in need. More details are available here or from your local co-ordinator or from the Ride & Stride coordinator rideandstrideberks@gmail.com.
